Yayoi Kusama: Life is the Heart of a Rainbow
When I was in Singapore, I got a chance to visit National Gallery. National Gallery is my top priority place to visit. And there was an exhibition about Yayoi Kusama. She was famous for her mind-blowing artwork. She is the queen of dots.
Honestly, I don't know her until I saw a video about her on facebook.
I love art but I rarely visit an art gallery. And this is the first I ever in my life I visit it. Ironic, isn't it? I will visit an art gallery in my country next time.
These arts are not for those who don't really like abstract patterns. Some of my friends had chills when they saw my pictures inside this exhibition. Some paintings were forbidden to be captured by the camera.
But it was an unforgettable moment to see such masterpiece with my own eyes.
Yayoi has a disturbed life so she wreaks it out to art. On this exhibition, there were some videos playing how Yayoi created her works and Yayoi singing. JSYK, Yayoi Kusama is still alive.
There was room full of gleaming lights and constantly changing colors. Each entry to the room, you'll be given more or less thirty seconds (probably. I can't remember actually) to enjoy this. It was everyone's favourite. There were a lot of people queueing for this room.
I was impressed with all her artworks. They're very unique and no one could create the same as Yayoi's even some are just dots and lines. People would think, "Duh, it's just polka dots..."
Well, it's not just polka dots.
Yayoi Kusama is the only person who knows polka dots very well. She could turn polka dots into beautiful (yet creepy) piece of art. I must admit it, it's beautiful but creepy at the same time but not for all paintings, just some of them.
